West Virginia Executive strives to paint West Virginia in a positive light . One of the ways it does this is by creating special advertising sections in each of its publications to feature individual businesses that are working to create a brighter future for the Mountain State .
Education and information go hand in hand when considering how to move West Virginia forward . For this issue ’ s theme , information is considered anything from making broadband accessible statewide to using artificial intelligence for school security measures . Delivery methods of education need to be diversified not only because people differ in how they learn best , but also because the skills needed to meet the demands of the workforce are becoming increasingly diverse .
While it is important to provide students with the educational tools and resources they need to succeed , it is equally important to make sure that they feel supported in their decisions . The Communities in Schools program , whose mission is to surround students with a community of support to empower them to stay in school and achieve in life , has impacted 100,000 K-12 students at 257 participating schools across 52 of the 55 counties in West Virginia . Of these case-managed students , 99 % subsequently stayed in school .
In order to adequately prepare today ’ s students for tomorrow ’ s job market and workforce , West Virginia is more frequently working with businesses and organizations like the ones featured in this advertising section .
