Adaptability in the face of adversity , commitment to community and a knack for helping their fellow West Virginians are all qualities shared by the individuals that make up West Virginia Executive ’ s Young Guns Class of 2024 . Not only are these qualities present among the honorees in this Young Guns class , but a desire to propel West Virginia forward and defy the stereotypes of its people also exists .
Ten exceptional West Virginians are recognized each year for their ongoing work to improve the world around them . From Southern West Virginia to the Mid-Ohio Valley all the way to the Potomac Highlands , this year ’ s Young Guns share a passion for serving their communities and proudly call the Mountain State their home .
Each Young Gun honoree must live and work in West Virginia , be 43 years of age or younger at the time of induction , excel in their career and be an active participant in their community .

This year ’ s Young Guns photoshoot took place at various locations throughout Oglebay in Wheeling , WV . Offering 2,000 acres of picturesque overnight accommodations and year-round recreational activities , Oglebay is studied by planners worldwide as the only self-supporting public municipal park in operation in the U . S .
Oglebay stands as a successful tribute to Earl W . Oglebay , a notable achievement of the Wheeling Park Commission and a credit to the many benefactors and organizations involved in its growth . While Oglebay operates mainly through guest revenue , the park offers more free activities than any other operation of its type in the country .
