Born and raised in Kingwood , WV , Lauren Lint , chief financial officer for The Thrasher Group , Inc ., lived an idyllic childhood . Filled with playing after school and all summer long , cheerleading , dance , piano and saxophone , West Virginia never left Lint wishing for adventure . Wanting the same for her children , Lint continues to live and work in the Mountain State .
“ West Virginia is a beautiful state full of opportunities . Raising my kids here allows for a happier , more relaxed childhood for them ,” she says .
As her interests evolved throughout high school and college , Lint realized

numbers and strategy held her attention the most . With the help of her professors at West Virginia University ( WVU ), Lint solidified her love of accounting .
After graduation , her first professional job was an audit associate position at KPMG ’ s Pittsburgh , PA , office . From a paid internship to a full-time position , her time at KPMG built a foundation of success by working on clients — large and small , for-profit and nonprofit .
“ My favorites were service-oriented clients . I loved working with nonprofits and professional service businesses because it allowed me to hone in on the industries I was interested in early in my career ,” she says . “ Those early experiences shaped almost every career decision I made after that .”
While happily devoted to public accounting for the first decade of her career , Lint still struggled with the stigma she experienced for being a working mom .
“ At that time , there was still a stigma around women who chose to have children and work in public accounting . I was forced into the mommy track , where no matter how happy my clients were , I was never able to achieve the same level of success as my male or non-parent female counterparts ,” she says .
After deciding to move back to Morgantown , WV , Lint secured a position as a
controller for Swanson Industries . Before she could blink , Swanson Industries sold and Lint found herself responsible for new levels of compliance , international acquisitions , mega-bank creditors and more . Over time , and with mentorship from CEO Bill Roller , Lint learned to hold her own as a businesswoman in a male-dominated industry .
Now at The Thrasher Group , Lint leads the finance team . From payroll to accounts payable , financial analysis to banking relationships and tax calculations to corporate insurance , she does it all .
“ What I love most about this role is that no two days are ever the same ,” she says . “ One day I might work through an acquisition and the next I ’ m helping young project managers understand their project ’ s finances .”
Despite her long list of responsibilities , community service is a priority for Lint . Gravitating toward organizations where she can use her professional skills , she aims to bring them all to the next level financially .
Lint is a 2023 co-chair and gala committee member for WVU Children ’ s Hospital . As a member of the gala committee , she helps plan every facet of the organization ’ s biggest fundraiser .
As treasurer for Ridge Riders Youth Equestrian Association , Lint lends her financial expertise to support its mission of promoting appreciation for the equestrian sport and safe riding by providing first-class coaching and equipment in more affordable ways . Lint and her children also participate in The Salvation Army Angel Tree , a program that helps provide Christmas gifts for hundreds of thousands of children around the country each year .
“ I make time to give back because , first and foremost , my family and I are fortunate to have more than we need , and I feel a sense of civic responsibility to pay that forward ,” Lint says . “ But if I ’ m being honest , I volunteer because it feels good to help other people .” •
