Whether it be through their astute ability to make the most of any situation , awe-inspiring passion for helping others or abundant love of community , true leaders are easy to spot .
As we introduce the newest class of Young Guns , we see in them each of these qualities , along with a desire to push the state of West Virginia forward on a trajectory of continued success and lasting prosperity .
Each year , 10 outstanding Mountaineers are recognized for their dedication to bettering the world around them , one act of service at a time .
Extending from Southern West Virginia all the way to the Eastern Panhandle , the members of the Young Guns Class of 2023 have made their mark as passionate individuals who are reaching impressive heights while keeping their feet firmly planted in Appalachian soil .
Every featured Young Gun must live and work in West Virginia , be 43 years of age or younger at the time of selection , excel in their career and be actively involved in their community .
This year ’ s Young Guns photoshoot took place at locations designed by Silling Architects , a design-oriented architectural firm that is committed to passionate service with a legacy that dates all the way back to 1902 . Fascinated with the study of place and time , Silling is highly dedicated to serving the
