On August 24th , 2022 , the West Virginia University ( WVU ) College of Law and West Virginia Executive recognized the Lawyers & Leaders Class of 2022 , an outstanding group that is leaving an impressive legacy on the legal community .
Guests gathered at the awe-inspiring WVU College of Law , the birthplace of the honors program and a pinnacle of Appalachian pride since its founding in 1878 , to honor each nominee and their unending dedication to bettering the world around them . Each member of this class was chosen for their strong commitment to serving their communities and creating lasting change , whether it be through legal work , educating budding lawyers or performing charitable work throughout the Mountain State and beyond . This year ’ s Lawyers & Leaders reception was a true testament to the talented , devoted and selfless individuals who are educated in West Virginia .

Bailey & Glasser LLP ; Susan Brewer , member at Steptoe & Johnson PLLC ; Irene Keeley , U . S . district judge in the U . S . District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia ; Jena Martin , professor at the WVU College of Law ; Cathryn Nogay , guardian ad litem at Cathryn A . Nogay ; Gretchen Roos , assistant general counsel for global ethics and compliance for PPG ; Robert Sellards , member and partner at Bailes , Craig , Yon & Sellards ; Benjamin Sullivan , general counsel and executive vice president for Diversified Energy Company PLC ; and Madison Hinkle and Shawn Hogbin , graduates of the WVU College of Law Class of 2022 .
This annual awards program , which was first established in 2017 , strives to give proper recognition to the many exceptional professionals who have graduated from the WVU College of Law or are currently practicing in the state . Every Lawyers & Leaders inductee is carefully selected for their immense passion for advancing the legal profession and advocating for the rights of the great people of West Virginia . •
