The summer was quite event-full — pun intended . From the Governor ’ s Conference on Tourism to the 2022 Annual Meeting & Business Summit , the West Virginia Executive ( WVE ) team has done it all . The team even checked off meeting Baby Dog on its unending West Virginia bucket list . Each of these events allows WVE to continually be amazed by the Mountain State and all the moving parts contributing to its successes , wins and impact .
Our time outside the office sheds light on the topics we feel drawn to cover , and the content in this issue will enlighten readers concerning the phenomenal role West Virginia plays in the defense industry .
As our readers know , each issue of WVE has a different theme that influences the stories we tell . It allows our team to highlight the incredible feats being accomplished across the state . Our mission is to leave readers with a positive view of West Virginia , and narrowing our focus to specific industries that may not otherwise have an opportunity to tell their story helps us do this . The theme of this issue , defense and government contracting , was a bit out of our normal scope , which made it all the more intriguing to delve into . We were thrilled to discover the extensive impact West Virginia has on the defense industry . We are so excited to share this important information with our readers so they , too , can be inspired by West Virginia and its role not only statewide but nationwide .
As a team , we try to offer up the unexpected and approach stories with a different end in mind compared to other media outlets . We seek to show parts of West Virginia the general
public may not be aware of . We strive to emphasize the parts of this state we should all be proud of , and there is a seemingly endless stream of incredible stories to tell .
On behalf of the WVE team , we feel it is important to express our thanks to everyone making contributions to the defense industry . Our nation relies on your services , and we want you to know we see you , support you and appreciate you . Enjoy the first-ever defense issue of WVE ! •
