She taught middle school English and language arts for six years before joining KEYS 4 HealthyKids as the education specialist . Criner manages KEYS ’ social media and works with child care providers to promote health and wellness at their sites .

Jean Hardiman is a freelance writer from northern Ohio who moved to West Virginia more than 20 years ago . Previously , she worked as a longtime reporter for The Herald-Dispatch , covering health care , education and economic development throughout the state and region . Hardiman lives in Huntington , WV , with her family , and as a writer , she loves to shine a light on the amazing people and organizations and positive developments in the Mountain State .
Maggie Hatfield
Maggie Hatfield is the business development center manager for Sweet Relish and a longtime freelance writer for West Virginia Executive . She is a graduate of West Virginia University , where she received her bachelor ’ s and master ’ s degrees in journalism . She previously served as the communications and development specialist for the Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph . She resides in Owensboro , KY , with her husband , BJ , and daughter , Eloise .

Lori Kersey is a newspaper reporter in Charleston , WV . A native of Sissonville , WV , she is a graduate of Marshall and Morehead State universities . She has a bachelor ’ s degree in print journalism and a master ’ s degree in communications .
Ken Magill
Ken Magill worked as a New York Citybased writer and editor for more than two decades . Though he has mostly specialized in covering digital marketing-related topics for an international audience , his work has appeared in various outlets , including The Buffalo News and The New York Sun . Last fall , Magill and his family relocated from New York to the Charleston area . They believe it was one of the best decisions they ever made . They have fallen in love with this stunningly beautiful jewel of a state and its warm , down-to-earth people .

Brittany McClung is the communications and event coordinator at The West Virginia State Bar . She holds a bachelor ’ s degree in English with a minor in integrated communication and a master ’ s degree in strategic leadership from the University of Charleston . McClung lives in Saint Albans with her husband , Joshua .

Olivia Miller is the communications director for the West Virginia Highlands Conservancy . A native of Hendricks , WV , and an avid outdoor enthusiast , she is passionate about protecting and preserving the beautiful state of West Virginia . Miller holds a bachelor ’ s degree in journalism from West Virginia University and also works as an independent social media and marketing consultant .

In her spare time , Cart serves as a youth leader at Buffalo Church of the Nazarene and volunteers with the Come and Serve Team . Cart currently lives in Red House , WV , with her husband , Dr . Caleb Cart , and their daughter , Joanna .

Connie Conrad is a partner and marketing and advertising associate for Executive Ink , LLC . A native of Capon Bridge , WV , she holds a bachelor ’ s degree in public relations from West Virginia University . She coaches youth soccer and baseball , serves as a Cub Scout den leader and is active in her church . She lives in Fairmont with her husband , twin sons and niece .
