financial aid to attend the LPN program at the James Rumsey Technical Institute . After excelling in her classes , she is now an LPN at the Williamsport Nursing Home .
Max was laid off and had difficulty finding work , so he visited his LWDB . That office was able to assist him with training to get his commercial driver ’ s license ( CDL ). Max now works full time for a propane hauling company doing well for himself and his family .
Jeremy , who was enrolled in his LWDB ’ s Youth program , is now employed with a union , making over $ 50,000 a year .
Hayden , who was living at Kenneth Honey Rubenstein Juvenile Center , enrolled in his LWDB ’ s youth program in Region VI . After completion of his program , he enlisted in the Army and is now an 11 Bravo .
Jason , who was not employed and qualified for WIOA Adult funding , called the Workforce West Virginia Parkersburg office to inquire about the WIOA program . After completing Class A CDL training , Jason began driving for Covenant Logistics on July 28 , 2021 .
The services provided by LWDBs have been utilized by businesses with great success as well .

LWDBs have been able to assist businesses like Ticketmaster , Steel of West Virginia , New Birth Construction , East Coast Tees , Maple Manufacturing , Common Industries , Tudor ’ s Biscuit World , Americo , Sogefi USA , White Hall Pharmacy and Karubees with OJT wage reimbursement for eligible participants . Such services have allowed West Virginia companies to expand their workforce , secure new business and divert layoffs .
Since establishing the Business Resource Network in 2016 , the LWDBs in Region IV and Region V have assisted hundreds of local businesses by offering them full access to all the programs and services available to them . The mission is to help regional businesses strive to grow and create jobs by bringing a strategic and collaborative approach to solving their problems and expanding their opportunities .
There are thousands of other success stories of those served by LWDBs in West Virginia , and the resulting benefits to the state economy are immeasurable . However , not enough businesses and job seekers are aware of the programs and services available to them . If they were , the challenge of finding qualified workers would not be as great .
