West Virginia Regional Technology Park Names Matt Ballard Executive Director and CEO
After a national search , the West Virginia Regional Technology Park board of directors appointed Matt Ballard as executive director and CEO . Ballard brings more than 15 years of experience in economic development and real estate in the region . Before joining the park as the new CEO , Ballard had held the position of president and CEO of the Charleston

Regional Chamber of Commerce since 2006 . Ballard was also the executive director of the Hatfield- McCoy Regional Recreation Authority during its founding years and was instrumental in growing this significant tourism attraction in Southern West Virginia .

West Virginia Aeronautics Commission Launches Economic Impact Study
The West Virginia Aeronautics Commission ( WVAC )’ s West Virginia Aviation Economic Impact Study ( AEIS ), the first economic impact study on the state ’ s airports in almost 30 years , is underway . It will identify and evaluate the wide range of economic benefits the state ’ s aviation system contributes , analyze its unique activity and communicate its importance to the state ’ s economy in both quantitative and qualitative ways .
The study will collectively analyze the annual impact of the entire aviation system through examination of each airport ’ s quantitative impacts . Additionally , qualitative data in the form of real-life stories will lend a human element to the study by showcasing the importance of aviation to residents , businesses and visitors that go beyond the numbers . The AEIS in its entirety will assist in communicating the benefits of the aviation system to West Virginia and validate the continued public investment in the state ’ s system of airports .
Upon the completion of the AEIS , a technical report will be delivered to the WVAC that will aid the continued efforts in planning for and developing West Virginia ’ s aviation system . Also included will be 24 individual airport reports that detail
