Sharp Shooters Class of 2020 Awards Reception

Face masks , hand sanitizing stations and social distancing did not make for the typical reception for West Virginia Executive ’ s ( WVE ) Sharp Shooters Class of 2020 — but 2020 has not been a typical year . While the COVID-19 pandemic has put a stop to many things , it could never stop the spirit of service and perseverance that flows through the Mountain State and its people .
As the Sharp Shooter honorees gave speeches and accepted their awards on July 28 , 2020 , at the Charleston Coliseum & Convention Center , one thing was clear : through their numerous accomplishments , they have and will continue to do what is best for their families and friends and for their state . Particularly in the age of COVID-19 , these Sharp Shooters have gone above and beyond the call of duty for service to their communities to ensure their fellow West Virginians were taken care of when the world was turned upside down .
Sharp Shooters are those who exemplify the Mountaineer spirit by working hard in their careers and daily lives to continue improving the state and making it the best place it can be for each and every resident . While the world has changed , some things remain the same . That is why WVE will continue to honor those who help others .
This year ’ s class , featured in the combined Spring / Summer 2020 issue of WVE , showcases a diverse group of leaders using every opportunity to grow and enhance the state .
