CEC Bridgeport Office Expands Water Resources
Services with Addition of Principal

has hired Matthew Fluharty, PE,
as a principal in its water resources
practice. Fluharty brings more than
19 years of experience providing
engineering, project management
and consulting services to clients
in the private and public sectors. In
recent years, he has been working

with oil and gas companies providing
water resource services for the devel-
opment of natural gas wells for the Marcellus and Utica shales.
Fluharty is a registered professional engineer in Maryland,
Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. He has extensive knowl-
edge of the design and engineering of fluid hydraulics, hydraulic
modeling and treatment systems with regard to water lines and
distribution systems, pumping stations, water storage tanks,
treatment plants, equipment sizing and selection, hydraulics
analysis, project planning and permitting. He has worked
on wastewater and potable water projects for public utilities.
Fluharty received a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
from West Virginia University and is a member of the American
Water Works Association and the American Society of Civil
Engineers.

including serving on the board of directors.

WV Energy Expo Hosts the Region’s
Largest Energy Trade Show and Hiring Event
In October, the third annual West Virginia Energy Expo was
held at the Hazel & J.W. Ruby Community Center at Mylan
Park. The expo is a one-day business event tailored toward
the growth and opportunity of the energy industry in West
Virginia. The event provides information, resources and net-
working needed for growing the state’s energy industry and
the businesses that support it.
