Orion Strategies Opens Pittsburgh Office Orion Strategies, a public relations and strategic communi- cations firm founded in West Virginia, has opened a Pittsburgh office with Brittany Ramos joining the firm to lead the new shop. Ramos comes to Orion Strategies as a senior account executive after having served many years at Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation, where she directed strategic outreach efforts and represented the industry and company to the general public, media, elected officials, landowners and other stakeholders. “Brittany Ramos is an extremely valuable addition to Orion Strategies,” says the firm’s founder, Curtis Wilkerson. “Her insights and experience in the energy industry augment what Orion has been doing for years in the Marcellus and Utica region.” Having recently won the Pioneer Award from the Greater Pittsburgh Chapter of Women’s Energy Network, Ramos is deeply engaged in energy issues both throughout Pennsylvania and nationally as a leader of many business development organizations. For a number of years, she has served on coun- cils and boards of area nonprofit organizations such as The Challenge Program, Inc. and the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden as well as both the local chapter of Women’s Energy Network and its national board of directors. “The Orion team is extremely skilled in assisting clients in their outreach to gain real results, and I am thrilled to be a part of their latest expansion into Pennsylvania,” she says.  West Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants Recognizes Pioneer West Virginia Federal Credit Union CEO Dan McGowan, president and CEO of Pioneer West Virginia Federal Credit Union (FCU), has been honored as the 2018 Outstanding CPA in Business and Industry by the West Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants. “This recognition is simultaneously uplifting and hum- bling,” he says. “I appreciate a moment in the spotlight, but these 15 minutes of fame are not necessarily about me. It’s just my turn to represent many other fine CPAs in business and industry who labor each day to help their organizations achieve great things.” The achievement of great things is a common occurrence at Pioneer. During McGowan’s term of service, he and the credit union have received numerous national awards for excellence, including being named the nation’s CEO of the Year in 2017 and Credit Union of the Year in 2012 by the National Association of Federal Credit Unions.
