COMMUNITY GUIDE 2026
Long Lake keeps it fun year-round
With its shaded, picturesque residential neighborhoods, an ever-growing and improving downtown business district, and the lake for which the city is named, Long Lake has something to offer everyone from residents to visitors. The city continues to blend its small-town character with convenient access to nearby communities and the greater Twin Cities area.
Numerous businesses line Wayzata Boulevard, the main corridor through Long Lake, creating a central hub for commerce and activity. In recent years, the corridor has seen significant improvements aimed at enhancing both aesthetics and accessibility. These upgrades include improved pedestrian connections and a walking and biking path along the shoreline of Long Lake, providing scenic access to the water and linking directly to the popular Luce Line State Trail.
The city offers its nearly 1,700 residents and visitors a variety of events and activities throughout the year that help foster a strong sense of community. In recent years, Long Lake has brought back and revitalized Buckhorn Days, a summer festival featuring food, live entertainment and family-friendly activities, and continues to be held annually. During the winter months, seasonal events such as community celebrations and gatherings provide additional opportunities for residents to connect.
With continued investment in infrastructure, community programming and local businesses, Long Lake remains a welcoming and evolving community while preserving the charm and identity that have long defined it.
