COMMUNITY GUIDE 2026
A place for the community to gather
Located in Mound, the Gillespie Center serves as a central gathering place for the west Lake Minnetonka area, offering a wide range of programs, services and event space for residents of all ages. Often described as a center for the community run by the community, it plays an important role in bringing people together throughout the year.
The facility is a popular venue for both public and private events, including weddings, banquets, business meetings and community celebrations. It also serves as a hub during local festivals and events, providing a central location for activities and gatherings.
In addition to event space, the Gillespie Center offers a variety of ongoing programs designed to keep residents active, engaged and connected. Regular offerings include fitness and wellness classes, arts and hobby groups, music programs and social gatherings. Educational workshops and presentations are also held throughout the year, covering topics such as health, finance, gardening, travel and more.
The center also provides a number of community-based services. These may include wellness programs such as blood pressure checks, insurance counseling and seasonal tax assistance, as well as specialized services like nurse-provided foot care clinics. These services help support residents’ well-being and provide additional resources within the community.
To support its operations and programming, the Gillespie Center hosts fundraising events throughout the year and organizes trips and outings for participants. These efforts help ensure that the center can continue to provide valuable services and opportunities for residents across the west Lake Minnetonka area.
