YOUR NEXT BUILD

DO ’ S & DON ’ TS

OF YOUR NEXT NEW BUILD

Here are some tips to keep in mind when trying to keep your costs down and make purchasing your new vessel go as smoothly and efficiently as possible :
1 . Get your financing in place early , keeping in mind any possible changes during the build .
2 . Have your boat planned out and designed early , giving extensive thought to what your vision is .
3 . Stay away from changes during the build . It will cost you triple , building it once , tearing it apart , and building it again .
4 . Customization is nice but costs time and labour .
5 . Consider how much pricing variability there is on electronics , electrical , hydraulics , engines , metal works , etc .
6 . Costs from suppliers can rise without warning .
7 . Be clear and specific when discussing needs with the building crew and allow them time and space to work without many interruptions .
8 . For vessels over 15 tons , Transport Canada-approved plans need to be in place prior to build . This process can take weeks .
9 . When the boat is complete , ownership is not transferred until final payment and sea trials are successfully completed . Allow time at the end for this if you are on a deadline .
Our goal is to make the process of building your brand-new vessel as stress free as possible , ultimately leading to you being a happy , satisfied customer .
