DESCRIPTION
Intellectual property (IP) protection is essential to foster innovation. For the protection of important technology for
commercialization, a strong and enforceable patent is required. Hence, scientists and engineers need to be aware of the
basics of intellectual property protection to avoid the simplest pitfalls.
This masterclass provides a practical training opportunity to enhance our understanding of IP. It aims at enriching and
broadening the knowledge and experience of graduate students, scholars, faculty, along with community members on the
importance of IP.
It will provide answers to various questions, such as: What is IP? Why is it important? What are the challenges and issues
that may affect research and innovation in all fields?
