Crawford and Upson. Both Forsyth and Culloden are located along the Peach Blossom Trail that follows U. S. 41 / 341 from Jonesboro to Perry. Forsyth, along with the community of Bolingbroke, is also part of Georgia’ s Antiques Trail.

Climate Monroe County enjoys the pleasure of a warm, mild climate. Spring temperatures approach the mid-80s( degrees F) by May with July and August high temperatures registering at nearly 91 degrees. Winter lows rarely drop below freezing. The county had a wet 2009 with 78 inches of rain but rainfall averages about 60 inches per year, with spring and fall being the wettest times of year. Snowfall averages barely over a half-inch annually, though the county did get 4 inches of snow in February 2010.

it was named the 22nd fastest growing county in the U. S. by the census bureau before the recession hit. In July 2006, the county had 9,541 housing units. By July 2007, the county had added 521 housing units to stand at 10,062.
The housing growth made Monroe one of four Georgia counties to be among the 25 fastest growing counties in America.
Meanwhile, the latest census estimate puts Monroe County’ s population at 25,425, a 16 percent population boom since just 2000.
While Monroe County hasn’ t been immune to the real estate recession, it’ s poised for continued growth from Macon to the south and from Atlanta to the north. With the Georgia Department of Corrections coming, the county is expected to resume its normal growth soon.
