Travel and Transport
Keele University is committed to sustainability
and reducing our environmental impact. We have
worked hard to make travelling to Keele without
using a car as easy and cheap as possible.
Registration of vehicles and
purchase of parking permits
The local public bus services are very frequent,
departing every 10 minutes to Newcastle, Stoke
(station), Hanley and Longton operated by First
Bus and D&G with an hourly service to Madeley
and Crewe. Both providers have a range of
discount tickets and First Bus offer an annual
pass to Keele students at a cost of £299. These
are available from the Students’ Union Reception
and give unlimited use of all First Bus services in
Staffordshire and South Cheshire.
Students living on campus are not automatically
eligible to obtain a parking permit. If you have a
car and wish to bring it onto campus regularly,
you need to apply and pay for a parking permit.
This is completed via an online system and can
normally be done during the weeks prior to the
start of term. Student parking is zoned with a
maximum number of permits issued for each
zone. Charges vary with cheaper parking
available for car parks on the perimeter of the
campus. All student car parks are within a
few minutes’ walk from the centre of campus.
