A lush , tropical oasis awaits you at the Port St . Lucie Botanical Gardens . Visitors to this 21-acre urban haven will see a collection of 12 separate garden rooms containing more than 2,000 species of tropical and subtropical plants , including natives , palms , roses , cactus , bromeliads , bonsai , bamboo and much more . The Botanical Gardens include a Secret Garden , our Faerie Forrest and native wetlands and mangroves . Stroll along the lake , sit on inviting benches and relax to the sound of water flowing from a nearby fountain . Take a moment to shop at our Garden Center or Gift Shop , or marvel at the wildlife , including osprey , great blue herons , sandhill cranes , gopher tortoises and more . The Gardens are a spectacular site for your special event , wedding or meeting , with event sites nestled amid enchanting gardens , a peaceful lake and native wetlands .
Dog Parks

With acres to run and play , the off-leash dog parks are great spots for pups to exercise and socialize . Each dog park is securely fenced in and some of them include agility style equipment , a water fountain made just for dogs , doggie clean up bags and benches and / or pavilions for owners to lounge .
Not all dogs like to socialize . If your dog is timid or aggressive , leave them at home for their safety and enjoyment . All dogs must have a current license and be up to date on vaccinations .
Campsites : McCarty Ranch Preserve
12525 Range Line Road , 772-878-2277 Port St . Lucie ’ s McCarty Ranch Preserve is known for its excellent hiking , biking , kayaking and fishing opportunities . Visitors can camp and stay in this primitive and rustic setting with 13 campsites and six RV trailer sites with boat and canoe launch , camping , disc golf , fishing , nature trails and open space . Bathroom facilities with showers are available on site . There is no parking , water connections or electricity at the sites .
