What is the
Programme?
Please arrive on Wednesday 20th January 2016
as this is when the programme starts. It is a great
opportunity for you to meet new people, get to
know your new city and find your way around the
University. You can find information on the main
activities below but for details of all the events and
activities on offer please check the New Students
webpages for the latest changes and most
up-to-date information.
If there is likely to be a delay in your arrival at Keele,
please contact the Immigration Compliance Team
as soon as possible [email protected].
The first four days are specifically designed for
International and EU/EEA Students to settle into life
at Keele University. Along with lots of fun events
and activities, you will also complete all the
necessary University procedures to make your
enrolment as smooth as possible.
Keele Welcome continues beyond the first four
days and will provide you with opportunities to
meet all the new first year students and attend
meetings and sessions with your School(s) and
Programme Teams. We strongly encourage you to
participate in the full Welcome Programme as
much as possible.
Who can
help you?
Welcome Teams
To assist you as you arrive and to ensure you have a
great first few days, the University has two main
teams of Welcome and Support Guides as well as
many other support teams to help you. You won’t
be able to miss these teams as you will see them
(staff and students) in their coloured team t-shirts.

They will be around to answer your questions
and offer advice to help you make the most of
your first few days at Keele. Staff from the different
services in Student Support and Development
will be based at the Help and Information
stands in the Chancellor’s Building Foyer over
Welcome Weekend.
Black and Yellow T-shirts –
Welcome Week and Enrolment
Ambassadors
The University’s central welcome team, the
Welcome Week Ambassadors, will be located
across campus throughout Welcome Week. As well
as being situated at a number of ‘Info Points’ the
team will support you through the enrolment
process, answer any questions you might have, or
point you in the right direction. They will also be
coordinating a number of events and activities
throughout the week and working hard to ensure
you have a great start to life as a Keele student.
Blue T-shirts – Fresher Guides
The Student Guides in blue t-shirts will be all over
campus during Welcome Week. They know all there
is to know about social activities, opportunities to
get involved and anything happening in the
Students’ Union.
Over arrivals weekend they will be answering any
questions, helping out in the Halls of Residence,
giving campus tours and being a generally friendly
and helpful team. Like the Welcome Week
Ambassadors, they were in your position just a few
months or years ago so will be able to offer lots of
advice if you want or need it.
Purple T-shirts – Student Services Staff
Student Services Staff will be located across
campus during Welcome Week and are based
throughout the year in the Student Services Centre
in the Tawney Building. Staff provide much of the
support you might require whilst you are studying
at Keele and offer a range of support, inf
