In preparation for your arrival, there are a number
of things that you need to do to be well prepared to
commence your studies and life here at Keele.
We will be keeping in touch with you by email, post
and through social networks so keep checking your
Keele inbox and checking in online to see what is
happening, as we count the days down until
you arrive.
Apply for a Keele Mentor. This scheme is open to all
new undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Before you arrive
It is worth getting yourself familiarised with the
services which your IT account gives you access to.
The KLE (Keele Learning Environment) is a great
place to start and here you will find lots of useful
links to course materials, timetables, email.
Go to students.keele.ac.uk
Follow each of the tabs: home, learning,
co-curriculum, Pebblepad and the office and
find the information you require.
Talk directly to current Keele students by joining

Home is your own home page. You can add and
remove any of the panels (or portal modules) and
rearrange them as you wish. Everything from
important essay due dates to local cinema listings.

Learning is for your courses (KLE) and contains sub
tabs to the Library and Student Support and
Development Services.
Getting Connected
Co -curriculum tab has buttons for the main
activities as well as spaces for clubs and societies.
Keele is much more than your academic studies
and looks to encourage activities outside your
normal academic studies.
We think that it’s really important that you have all
the information you need to make you feel a part of
the Keele community. The following information will
ensure that you can begin to access key services
such as your IT account, the Keele Learning
Environment, eVision and other key information and
learning services. It is also about the return of
important information so we can prepare for your
arrival at Keele. When you have completed these
important tasks, you can relax and look forward to
starting life as a Keele student.
Where to Start
Check the email address that you gave us during
the application process; you should by now have
received an email providing details of your IT

account information. You will need to then go to
students.keele.ac.uk and log on using your Keele
IT account information. Don’t worry if you have not
received your IT account information or do not have
an email address, please contact:
[email protected] who will
arrange for this information to be sent to you.
The Office contains the essential information you
need to be a student on a daily basis. There are sub
tabs for timetable, email and docs (powered by
Google for Keele), Internal Telephone Directory and
Access for eVision. Our eVision system is for
student records; it’s where you will pre-enrol, pay
your fees, choose elective subjects and check your
final grades as the year progresses.

Accessing your Email
Once you have received your Keele IT Account
username and password, you will be able to access
your Keele email. From a PC you can access it from
students.keele.ac.uk and click on ‘The Office’ then
Mail and Docs. Keele University uses Google to
provide their email service. You may also want to
access your email on your mobile by setting it up
as a Gmail account using your Keele IT
Account Details.

Arranging your
Accommodation
University Accommodation
University accommodation is only available for
full-time students. If you are eligible, you will have
been sent information about how to apply to live in
our Halls of Residence. Information about who can
apply for accommodation and the order in which
