You will be asked to make this payment as part of
the online visa application process.
The University will provide you with a specific code
to use on the ‘Visa4UK’ website which will allow the
UKVI to send your BRP to Keele for you to collect.
This specific BRP collection code is on your CAS
statement. When selecting the BRP collection
location you must choose ‘alternative location’ and
use the code 2HE542 as shown below.

Biometric Residence Permits for
Entry Clearance
Recent changes to the UK law state that anyone
who applies for a visa outside of the UK for leave
that exceeds a period of six months will only be
issued with a 30-day vignette (entry clearance
‘sticker’) in their passport. You will then need to
collect a Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) within
10 days of arriving in the UK from the University or
a specified Post Office, which you select when you
submit your visa application.
Keele University has a special arrangement with
UKVI to distribute BRPs to students and you will be
given your BRP at the time of enrolment on to
your course.
• Failure to arrive and enrol on time for the
start of your course
• Absences from any part of your course
(without prior agreement)
• Failure to attend a Compulsory Checkpoint
Medical Screening
Please note that if you are bringing any
dependants with you, they will also be required to
produce a certificate.
If you hold a Tier 4 (General) Student Visa
sponsored by Keele University, we will have no
choice but to withdraw you from your course,
resulting in the cancellation of your visa, in the
following situations:
• Withdrawing from, deferring or suspending
your studies
Please note that a failure to make the required
payment will result in your application being
refused.
You may be required to get a certificate to show
that you do not have infectious tuberculosis (TB).
The list of countries where a TB screening
certificate must be presented with a visa
application has recently expanded. Please check
the website listed below.

Your Visa
Application
• Failure to pay fees to the University, including
tuition fees and accommodation charges
• Withdrawal by Keele University
Alternatively the nearest pick up location to the
University is the Post Office in Newcastle-underLyme. To select this location you will need to use
the University’s post code ST5 5BG on the ‘visa4UK’
website, however you will need to arrange your
own transport to this Post Office and you will not
be able to enrol or start your studies without
your BRP.
To collect your (and your dependants’) BRP you will
need to bring your original passport with the
30-day vignette and also your visa application
decision letter from the UK Home Office. BRPs for
dependants will only be issued with the student’s
BRP. BRPs will not be issued without both the
decision letter and the passport containing the
entry clearance vignette ‘sticker’ for each individual.
• Academic failure
• Failure to abide by the University’s rules
and regulations
Please note that this is not an inclusive list of
what can cause a student to be withdrawn from
the University.
We will take a copy of your passport, visa and
Biometric Residence Permit at enrolment, plus
copies of your original academic and English
language qualifications. You must keep us informed
of any changes to your information, including your
address in the UK, mobile phone number and
personal email.
When you receive your decision letter and 30-day
vignette following your visa application, you must
email a scanned copy of the letter and the visa to
cas@keele.ac.uk
Failure to collect your BRP within the 10 day period
following arrival means that your visa will be
cancelled and you will have to leave the UK.
Checking your Visa
Once you have been granted your visa, you must
check it thoroughly to make sure that all the
information is correct. If you think any of the
information on your visa is wrong, please contact
International Student Support within 7 days of
arrival at student.services@keele.ac.uk for advice
and assistance.
