The Weinstein JCC Food Pantry A Lifeline of Hope and Compassion
Forty years ago, Annabelle Toth founded the Elmer Toth Food Pantry at the Weinstein JCC in memory of her father, ensuring that families in need would never have to face hunger alone. Toth and her team of volunteers prioritize respect and dignity for every visitor.“ We ask how many mouths they need to feed, and we do our best to ensure they leave with enough to sustain their loved ones,” Toth said.
“ We serve everyone, no matter their background, religion, or age. When they walk through our doors, they are part of our family,” – Annabelle Toth
In collaboration with community partners, Feed More and local grocery stores, and with generous support from our donors, Weinstein JCC staff and volunteers stock the food pantry each week. In addition to dry goods, the pantry stores fruit, vegetables, dairy and meat products in our commercial refrigerator and freezer, to ensure the provision of nutritional food to community members in need. Open twice a week, the Elmer Toth Food Pantry provided food to more than 8,000 individuals in 2024. The Weinstein JCC remains committed to ensuring that everyone in the community has access to nutritious meals.“ My parents raised me to share.
