The irony of this whole problem about being more attractive is that our physical appearance is only a minor part of whether other people find us attractive. Research shows that a woman who looks too good actually repels men who feel they will not measure up. In one survey that I came across the majority of men would not want to date a supermodel because they were too skinny, nor date a model because they felt their own bodies were not up to it. They said they would feel more comfortable with a woman whose body was about as well toned as their own. Based on this point ladies, I think you should take a good look at the men around you and relax!! If losing weight makes a difference in attracting people it is because feeling slim leaves us feeling confident and feeling more attractive, which in turn makes us more attractive to others. The reality is that you do not actually need to lose weight to achieve this. As I have said many times before, I have more slim clients who are alone than overweight clients who are alone and the majority of our population are now overweight! Being overweight is now the norm. The conscious – unconscious mismatch To summarize so far, if we have a mismatch between what we want consciously and the unwritten rules in our unconscious, the tug-of-war begins. The more difficult we find it to achieve our goal the more likely it is that a mismatch exists. Consciously, we might want to eat in a healthier way to be / feel more attractive, feel fitter, be healthier – all those nice reasons. What if your unconscious has a completely different purpose? What if its purpose with eating is to make you feel better? What if, just as with other substances
