2019 LOCAL CONTENT AND SERVICE REPORT
IN THE COMMUNITY
WEFS uses its high-definition remote production unit to provide live and
recorded public affairs, cultural, and sports programming. The HD production
unit gives WEFS the mobility for live 2019 EFS graduation ceremonies and
live community events as well as other recorded events. In 2019 the station
began providing local programs for broadcast and for on-line web viewing.
MRI/CT Scan gave the community information on healthcare career options.
Another program was Dare To Finish which gave people who have not
received their degrees over a long period of time to return to college to
complete their programs of study. The station also gave back to the
community the recognition of viewing the 2019 Brevard County Volunteer
Recognition Awards and its importance to the area. The station continues its
recognition of sports that cover our licensee’s (Eastern Florida State College)
teams in highlight of golf, soccer, volleyball, baseball, softball, tennis, and
basketball. This was a goal of the station to create interstitials of college
sports to air on the broadcast channel and website to highlight the programs
and opportunities the college offers. The high quality of the productions also
enhances the professional reputation of WEFS and the college. With this
opportunity, it helps us increase our stature and impact in the community
and with our viewers.
