SENSORIAL - Geometry
You could extend the learning by
observing and naming shapes of
objects you may see on your family
walks.
Where does one find an octagonal
roof in Singapore? (The answer below!)
TANGS PLAZA AND MARRIOT HOTEL BUILDING, ORCHARD
ROAD, SINGAPORE!
POLYGON
A shape that has many sides, as you
know. We introduced polygons using
the shapes within the Geometry
Cabinet after presenting the square
and rectangle. As progressive
activity, the children traced around
the shapes, too. The names of the
polygons are associated, as the
number of sides are counted, i.e.
pentagon (five), hexagon (six),
heptagon (seven), etc.
