Granada
If sultry Spanish music, sangria and flamenco
dancing sound like a good time to you, the ever
enticing Spain should be your next holiday destination. Get away from the towering buildings
and crowded streets of Madrid and Barcelona
and head instead to Granada, a city in the Andalucia region in the south of Spain. Walk through
narrow cobbled streets filled with character and
life, indulge in some of their famous Trevelez
ham and local wine, or sit back and listen to a
gypsy singing flamenco music for a truly unique
Spanish experience.
Like many other European cities, Granada has
seen a history of wars and conquests that has
resulted in its weathered and historical look. Its
mix of old Iberian, Roman and Islamic cultures
is reflected in its existing architecture, and this
characteristic look is one history buffs will love.

during the declining phase of Spain’s Islamic
era, this is one of the best conserved Arabian
palaces of its time. Do book your tickets for this
in advance as there is a limit to the number of
tickets sold a day. Be sure to step into the Cathedral of Granada, the second largest cathedral in
Spain, where you will be awed by its bright Renaissance style interior and baroque elements.
While its history forms one of its biggest appeals, Granada has also developed into one of
the hippest most youthful cities in Andalucia,
with innovative bars and exciting festivals. Be
sure to catch at least one flamenco dance show
while you’re there, which you can watch while
indulging in a delectable Andalucian meal. The
local cuisine combines Spanish, Jewish and Arabic elements, resulting in a unique gastronomic
experience few other Spanish restaurants can
provide. Granada is also one of the few remaining Spanish cities that still serves free tapas at

bars, so make use of that while you enjoy your
jug of sangria! Meanwhile, those seeking adventure can go skiing or trekking at the beautiful
Sierra Nevada mountain. With so much to see
and do, there’s no wonder many argue Granada
is the single most worthwhile city in Spain for
tourists.
Rich in history and blessed with gorgeous
weather, Palm Springs is a preferred destination
of travellers from all over the world. Nestled at
the base of the Mount San Jacinto Mountains,
Palm Springs is known for its crystal blue skies,
year-round sunshine, stunning landscape, palm
tree lined streets and starry nights.
The best time to visit is in Spring or Autumn, but
Granada is still ideal for visiting all year round.
Temperatures can reach up to 40 degrees in the
summer (July and August), but if you come in
the winter, you have the option of going skiing
at Sierra Nevada.
Palm Springs, California lies on the western edge
of the Coachella Valley, within the Colorado Desert. Located approximately 110 miles southeast
of Los Angeles and 140 miles northeast of San
Diego, it is an easy two hour drive by freeway.
Palm Springs has more than 350 days of sunshine and less than 5.2 inches of rain. While winter temperatures average in the 70s with nights
in the mid-40s, the dry desert heat of summer
pushes daytime temperatures into the 100s,
which is much enjoyed by sun seekers.
