Penang
Although no longer as famous for it’s Betel Nuts, Penang is known for a number of beautiful natural attractions such as the National
Park, Batu Feringghi Beach, Pantai Kerachut, and Teluk Kampi.
You can travel to Penang National Park from Monkey Beach, for a secluded and private ‘off the beaten track’ experience. It also offers
a healthy diversion from the shopping, nightlife and buzz of the big city. The park, possibly the smallest national park in the world,
boasts over 1000 plants, 30 mammals, 40 reptiles and 160 species of birds. The terrain also rapidly changes from meadow, to wetland, to rainforest, to swamps and more. Of course, not forgetting the coral reefs.
If you’re more into golden beaches and a sea side experience, Batu Feringghi is one of the most popular destinations for a reason.
Enjoy a relaxing mojito as you tan yourself on the beach, and while the day away until it’s time to enjoy one of the most fantastic
sunsets you’ll ever see in your life. Although not as famous as Batu Feringghi, Pantai Kerachut and Teluk Kampi are still beautiful
beaches to behold. Along with the same respite other beaches provide, these two have one exception—Sea-turtles. A turtle sanctuary is located nearby.
