Another year, another beginning
Every man should be born again on the first day of January. Start with a fresh
page, said American clergyman Henry Ward Beecher who is recognised
for his role in the abolition of slavery. Well, except for those who were
born on 1st January, we can’t possibly reincarnate ourselves but we can
certainly start with a fresh page at the beginning of a new year.
I am sure all of us have our own bucket list of to-dos before our body
becomes too constraint to do them. Why not let 2014 be the year that
you begin emptying out that bucket. Our feature on New Beginnings in
Weekendin’s January issue provides some ideas for you to kick off that
journey.
Another Lunar New Year is upon us (from 31st January), and the month
of January will be buzzing as homes get refreshed and stocked up
for an important 2 weeks in the Chinese calendar. For those who are
celebrating the all-important reunion dinner, we have three restaurants
featured in Weekendin’s intheTASTE section for you to ponder over.
If part of your dream list includes owning a super luxury car, you’ll be
thrilled with our four-page coverage of the new Rolls-Royce Wraith in
our intheDRIVE pages.
Don’t forget to check out Vernetta’s feature on All Things New and
Beautiful. It’s a column I personally enjoy everytime I get the chance to
read Weekendin leisurely.
2014 is also Visit Malaysia Year so stay tuned to our section on
acrosstheSTRAITS to discover new experiences and ascertain why
Malaysia remains the most visited destination for people who live in
Singapore
So, enjoy another month of delightful dining and help yourself to the
assortment of treats that only avails this time of the year. Afterall, they
say it’s okay to indulge as this only happens once a year (well... you’ll
probably have to factor in the other celebrations that also occurs once
a year. hahaha...). Have a wonderful month ahead!
