As the years pass by, we accumulate more and more items from
sales, holiday trips and gifts. However, a cluttered home is often indicative of a cluttered mind. This 2014, start the year on a clean note
by organising and de-cluttering your home. Having a good system
and fewer things in the home helps one stay focused on important
matters, and this increased efficiency is sure to make an impact on
everything that you do. And while you’re at it, spice up your home
this 2014 by doing small redecorations that can turn it into a whole
new living environment! Revive that sense of excitement as you
come back to a new and improved home at the end of every day.
How to organise your home
Step 1: Get rid of unnecessary items
As you go through the various items in your home, ask yourself the following question: Should I keep it? Donate it? Or throw it away? Often we are
overcome with a sense of nostalgia and sentimentalism when doing this,
so be sure to think critically about the ‘keep’ items - Think about the last
time you used them and if you actually need them. Donate items that you
can no longer use but that others can benefit from. Throw away those that
are completely useless to everyone.
