Get into the heat of the mayhem at the Lost
World of Tambun with your family over the
weekends. Perhaps the location of being set
in the natural landscapes of Ipoh of being encompassed by majestic limestone features have
led to its understated popularity. Just stepping
beyond the gated entrances and you will realise
that the playing ground is packed with truckloads of fun and adventure befitting for all occasions. 7 main features make up this family wonderland – the Waterpark, the Amusement Park,
Lost World Hot Springs and Spa, the Tiger Valley, Lost World Petting Zoo, the Lost World Tin
Valley and the Lost World Team Building Park.
To start the trip on an exhilarating note, avail
yourself to the rides and attractions at the Waterpark. Surrounded by the thunderous gush
of water from the 20 feet twin waterfalls, a perfectly landscaped beach is molded at the River
& Beach Garden. The crystalline sand alongside
with the lush tropical gardens and breathtaking
rock formations sets the tone for an intense day
out at the park. The Jungle Wave Bay is home to
Malaysia’s largest wave pool with waves swelling up to 3 feet high, almost mimicking the
natural waves found at sea. Families with young
children can hang around Explorabay where it
is highly-supervised by the staff there. You children will be just as thrilled and will spare no reservations by plunging into the large interactive
play areas, fully-equipped with smaller slides,
giant tipping buckets, water cannons, spraying
elephants, water curtains and fountains. Boasting the longest inflatable tube ride in Malaysia,
the Tube Raiders is one attraction that should
certainly not be missed. Moving onto drier land,
head down to the Amusement Park for some of
the must-try rides in Malaysia. If you are up for
a thrilling yet rewarding experience, hop onto
Lupe’s Adventure, a roller coaster ride that is
bound to send chills down your spine by weaving through the lush green trees and an opportunity to catch a glimpse of the magnificent
birds-eye view of the theme park. Those with a
low threshold for a heart-pumping experience,
recline in the comfort of the Lost World Hot
Spring and Spa. The water in the hot springs
stem from a natural source whereas the thermal
water in the pool is never recycled. There is no
better way than to escape from all the noises
into the Lost World Steam Cave. The facility provides the ideal retreat to relieve your stress. With
temperatures up to 40°C, the steam resembles a
sauna where wastes and toxins are discharged
from the body through perspiration, thus encouraging new cell growth and skin rejuvenation. A dip would relieve your ailing aches and
pains, anxiety, insomnia and even depression.
Bring your inquisitive little ones to Tiger Valley to
catch a glimpse of the Siberian Tigers during the
feeding times. Alternatively, engage their senses
by paying a visit to the Petting Zoo. It will be an
excellent start for your children to step beyond
their comfort zone by experiencing an intimate
encounter with the animals such as rabbits,
guinea pigs and tortoises through feeding and
playing with them. Capture the photo moment
with the Ferret, Wallaby, Sugar Glider and the Giant Iguana at the Rock Canopy.

Education through Fun
Apart from its quirky and wild rides, the Lost
World of Tambun is also purposeful in educating visitors. Capitalising on their rich heritage,
the Lost World Tin Valley is one such attraction
to bring to light about the humble beginnings
of Malaysia’s tin mining community. A form of
labour practiced for centuries, tin mining has
come a long way in granting Malaysia economic
success. Initially mined by the orang Asli and the
Malays, the mining industry blossomed during
the influx of the Siamese, Mandailings and the
Hakka Chinese immigrants. In the bid to show
newer generations this period of fortitude, the
Tin Valley was created in the Lost World of Tambun, a time where the dulang washer diligently
panned the rivers to feed their family. This attraction opens up an opportunity for children to
participate in the dulang washing activities and
have and take a closer look at the real historical
artefacts at the Galleria. The Lost World of Tambun is also a fitting place to cultivate your character. At the Lost World Team Building Park, a
series of high rope elements deck the limestone
façade, giving forth a magnificent backdrop
of the natural environment. Activities such as
the High Rope Course, and Para Jump are para
mount in building your confidence, self-esteem
and endurance.
Exploring Outdoors
Pack your bags and venture out away from the
comfort of urbanity into the forested vicinity.
Trek through the deep limestone hill forests
and get a firsthand experience at meeting the
flora and fauna that flourish in the foliage, waterfalls and mysterious caves. Delve deep into
Gua Datok on a guided tour and discover the
history and formations of the stalactites and stalagmites that have taken their position from 400
million years ago. Get yourself dirty by touring
the Six Mile Tunnel where you will be educated
on mining artifacts as well as stalactites in the
making. Foster bonds with your friends or family at the Needle Village and the Riverside Village
where activities such as lake kayaking, rafting
and themed dinners are readily available. To
conclude the day, seek refuge at the Lost World
Hotel and be awaken refreshed to the smell of
the crisp fresh air and an amazing view of the
archaic limestone hills.
