Hearing loss is a chronic and often lifelong disability that can affect development of speech and language. It causes difficulties with interpersonal communication for the Deaf. In line with their mission to assist the Deaf achieve a better quality of life, integrate and contribute to society, the Singapore Association for the Deaf (SADeaf ) have been providing a range of services to deaf clients. These services include education, tuition, discount for purchase of hearing aids, guidance and counseling, interpretation, social care and financial assistance to the needy. The SADeaf is an organisation under the National Council of social services and is affiliated with many other governmental organisations in Singapore. They believe that with care, patience and moral support, they can learn life-changing skills and help contribute to society, shaping their overall life. You can always begin with a small act of kindness by joining this association in advocating equal opportunities, in all aspects, for the Deaf and supporting the Deaf to reach their full potential.
