Old CD Mosaic Bauble
Toilet Roll Reindeer
I
It’s Christmas again. Billions all over the world are
going to celebrate the birth of Jesus. This is an amazing
and wondrous event that actually happened over 2000
years ago and is still celebrated today.
In 1969 when the USA Apollo astronauts first landed on the moon,
the American president Richard Nixon proclaimed, It’s the greatest
day since creation! Then Billy Graham, the Christian evangelist,
reminded him of Christmas and Easter, two far greater days in the
history of the world.
Christians call this event the incarnation - the day when God who
is spirit became flesh. This is truly a wondrous miracle. That God
the creator should invade planet earth is a little like Shakespeare
writing himself into one of his plays.
God has written a part of himself into the drama of planet earth.
And he has done this so that we who are flesh could come to
know our Creator who is spirit. By doing this, God shows us that
spirit is more real than matter and can have an influence on how
we live on earth.
This gives us great hope! We are not alone! Yes, this life consists of
more than we can see or hear.

What about peace
on Earth?
By Ian McKellar
God sent his son Jesus to our planet to demonstrate His great
love for us and to be a saviour to us. A little bit like Superman the
comic book hero who came from Krypton and had extraordinary
powers to fight for good against evil. Christ has supernatural
powers to change our hearts. As we put our trust in Him so He
helps us and changes us. We get helped and we get changed.
As we get to know God our Creator because of Jesus our saviour,
we get a new hope for the future. A hope for a better life on earth,
a better plan for humanity to live in peace and prosperity.
For 2000 years, Christ has influenced the planet for good. Just think
of what William Wilberforce, Martin Luther King Jr., Mother Teresa
and Bono amongst others have done to influence for good. These
are all revolutionaries of a different kind. People inspired by God
to sacrificially bring change to the planet; change that benefits
all and helps introduce a kinder, more compassionate and more
gracious way of living.
Sometimes we get frustrated because that change is not enough.
U2’s Bono sang;
Jesus and the song you wrote,
The words are sticking in my throat.
Peace on earth.
On that first Christmas Day, God promised peace on earth. The
angels declared it. One day it will be a reality. Many have decided
to be part of God’s plan and have asked for His supernatural help.
Once again we sing and pray for joy to the world and peace on
earth.
