CELEBRATIONS
It was like stepping into a winter wonderland when I entered the St. Regis.
White and frosty decorations filled
the table, and I temporarily came to
forget the sweltering heat outside.
The soft sound of Christmas jazz music filled the air, creating an overall
cosy and intimate atmosphere that
was replete with that warm fuzzy
Christmasy feeling we all love.
I was to try a variety of dishes from St. Regis’s
two different restaurants; the contemporary
French cuisine of Brasserie Les Saveurs, as well
as the ever delectable Italian cuisine from LaBrezza. Les Saveurs is holding A Cherished Christmas Dinner Affair on the 24th December, as well
as Champagne Brunch on the 25th and 26th of
December and 1st January. Meanwhile, LaBrezza is holding an Epicurean 5-Course Christmas
Eve Dinner on the 24th, as well as a New Year’s
Eve Dinner.
We began with the Amuse Bouche - Poached
Egg with Shaved Black Truffle. While on the
slightly eggy side, this was countered by the delicious surges of flavour from the truffle. Guests
at the Les Saveurs restaurant will find this to be
the perfect starter before they start on their buffet.

Next was the Artichoke and Potato Soup that
was served with Boston Lobster Tartare, Tarragon Espuma and Crispy Squid Ink Polenta.
This dish is part of the 5-course dinner menu
planned for Christmas Eve at LaBrezza, and I was
pleased to note that the soup balanced out the
taste of the Lobster Tartare, making the entire
meal a rather enjoyable experience.
One of the highlights for me was the medley
of seafood that is to be served as Les Saveurs’
various Champagne Brunc
