Sanding the inside of the tool cabinet. It was nice to not have to move the piece around in order to make it more comfortable to sand.

I was pleasantly surprised by how well the Turbo Dust Bag on the DTS 400 worked. Much less dust was left behind than with other sander/ collection bag combinations that I have used.

More aggressive that you think! I had to fix a mistake that I made on a project, but could not fit my block plane in the corner to clean it up. The DTS 400 combined with some 40 Grit Rubin 2 made quick work of the raised surface.

I was able to use the sander in the upright position with one hand comfortably while sanding the side of a cabinet.

The DTS 400's dust collection is nearly flawless when connected to one of Festool's Dust Extractors. Not to mention you get a discount when you combine the DTS 400 with a dust extractor. If you don't have a CT or don't want to buy one right away I think the Turbo Bag does a very good job at collecting dust. However, I would not recommend operating the DTS 400 with a traditional Shop Vac unless you have a way to control the amount of suction. The DTS 400 requires a very low level of suction to achieve a flawless surface.

I was very satisfied with how well the DTS 400 performed a variety of sanding tasks. The DTS 400 is the perfect addition to complement my ETS 150. I think the DTS 400 is the hidden gem in Festool's sander line. For those who may already have and ETS sander and are looking to add another one to their arsenal, consider the DTS 400. For those who might be thinking about getting into Festool and already own a 5" or 6" ROS, the DTS 400 might be the perfect gateway tool into the Festool line. 4WM.
