Power losses costing India a GDP loss of US$68bn annually: Survey Schneider Electric India, in partnership with AEEE announced the findings of a national study on the energy consumption profile of Indian businesses and drivers for clean energy investment. This survey was conducted in the month of September, with 300 respondents across metro and Tier II cities in India providing details on how they look at their energy consumption. NHPC to invest Rs 20,000 crore in private hydropower projects in next five years State-run NHPC has decided to take over private hydropower projects and is ready to invest equity worth Rs 20,000 crore in the next five years as it is eyeing to add another 4,000 mw using it cash reserves. It also declared that several private companies, especially with projects in the north and northeastern parts of the country, have approached the company to form a joint venture involving the state government as well. Isolux Corsan bags Rs 1,476 crore infrastructure projects in India Spanish firm Isolux Corsan on Tuesday bagged six major contracts worth Rs 1,476 crore in India for development of various infrastructure. Contracts include widening of 88km of roads in Odisha with an expenditure of Rs 303.8 crore, improvement and construction of new facilities in the Delhi Metro and two multi-crore new transmission and distribution contracts in Madhya Pradesh and Haryana. SBI Macquarie invests Rs 110 crore in Ashoka Buildcon road construction subsidiary ACL SBI Macquarie, private equity style infrastructure investment fund, has invested Rs 110 crore in Ashoka Buildcon's road construction subsidiary Ashoka Concessions (ACL). The funds will be used to finance equity investment in various projects currently in the construction mode.
