Bharti Airtel assigned Baa3 issuer rating by Moody's
Bharti Airtel, the 4th largest telecommunications services provider in the world, has said that Moody's
Investors Service has assigned Baa3 issuer rating to it and its 2023 notes issued by Bharti Airtel
International (Netherlands) BV. This is the first time that Moody's has assigned ratings to Bharti and it
is at par with India's sovereign rating.
DoT lowers one-time charge for spectrum
The telecom department has lowered the proposed one-time charge for airwaves held by nine mobile
phone companies whose permits were quashed by Supreme Court in February 2012. Instead of the
?2,764.29 crore originally demanded earlier this year, the telecom department (DoT) now wants them
to fork out ?1,989.18 crore as a one-time levy for airwaves

The government is likely to issue detailed guidelines for sharing spectrum and announce "in principle"
approval for trading in airwaves before it holds the next round of bandwidth auctions, moves that will
bring relief to the debt-laden telecom sector.
Vodafone seeks nod to up stake in Indian arm for ?16,600 cr
British telecom giant Vodafone has applied to government for raising its stake in its Indian arm to 100%
at an estimated USD 2.7 billion (?16,600 crore). Vodafone has applied to Foreign Investment
Permission Board (FIPB) for permission to raise its stake in Vodafone India from 74% to 100%.
