elly winton and kyle schrump share mutual friends and would
sometimes see each other at events, but the two didn’t really
connect until they sat across from one another at a group dinner
in December of 2011. The Vancouver-based couple started dating a month later
and have been inseparable ever since. In the summer of 2014, Kyle surprised
Kelly with a beachside proposal. The two had just returned from a wedding and
Kelly’s friend (and future bridesmaid) invited them to join her and her husband
at the beach for a fireworks display. Little did Kelly know, the double-date was
merely a ploy by Kyle to get her to the proposal site. The couple headed down
to the beach with their beloved dogs in tow and Kyle proposed on the sand.
“Kyle turned to me and let me know that he didn’t bring me to meet friends, he
brought me there for another reason. He said some beautiful words to me which
I will never forget and proposed with our dogs watching,” remembers Kelly.
Kelly and Kyle were married on August 22, 2015 in Vancouver. Soha Lavin of
countdown events planning & design provided event design and fullservice planning for the elegant, secret garden-inspired event. “Soha was able
to take our vision and turn it into a reality that was more spectacular than what
we dreamed of,” says the couple.
flourish by colleen winton designed the wedding stationery along with a
custom monogram of the couple’s initials that was incorporated across the decor.
Kelly’s diamond engagement ring was from tiffany & co., and the couple’s
wedding bands were purchased at minichiello jewellers.
