aleh tafteh and saam naghshineh were introduced by mutual
friends over dinner in vancouver. saam was living in arizona at
the time and was in the city visiting family and friends. sparks
flew and they began a long distance relationship for the next two and a half
years. The couple were engaged in the spring of 2014 while enjoying a romantic holiday in Newport Beach, California. Saam proposed during sunset at the
resort at pelican hill, underneath the property’s famed Italian rotunda
perched 300-ft above the Pacific Ocean. Family and friends joined them in
Orange County immediately after to celebrate.

The couple’s traditional Persian wedding took place on August 1, 2015 at the
fairmont hotel vancouver. Soha Lavin of countdown events planning
& design was commissioned to provide event design and full-service planning
for the celebration. Haleh, a makeup artist who has been frequently featured
in WedLuxe, knew Soha Lavin and her team were the right choice. “I was
impressed with Soha’s sophistication and how caring she was with brides,” says
Haleh. “Having her as my wedding planner was a dream come true.”
Mona Lotfizadeh of invite avenue designed the wedding stationery.
Tina and Hassan Aghamohseni of tala florist produced the jaw-dropping
floral designs for the event, including the bride’s all-white bouquet made with
stephanotis and gardenias. The bouquet was wrapped in white ribbon and
decorated with a cameo brooch for an Italian, vintage feel.
