harlotte wong and ryan fernandes were first introduced through
mutual friends when they were both studying international business
at the schulich school of business in toronto. as part of their
program, they were required to go on an exchange, and both had their hearts set
on spending a year in Spain, a highly competitive and sought-after destination. As
fate would have it, they were accepted and in 2005, their friendship flourished into
romance amid the beautiful setting of Barcelona. Nine years later, in the middle of
one of the coldest winters on record, Ryan proposed to Charlotte at Polson Pier in
front of the sweeping views of Toronto’s skyline.
The couple were wed on Sep tember 26, 2015 in Toronto, Ontario, at st. patrick’s
catholic church in a traditional, Catholic ceremony. Shealyn Angus, for bliss
events, provided full-service planning and design assistance and was instrumental
in bringing Charlotte’s dream wedding to life. “She understood my vision for a
modern and colourful wedding and knew exactly what I wanted,” Charlotte shares.
Rachel Clingen of rachel a. clingen wedding & event design designed the
floral for the wedding and worked closely with Shealyn Angus on the decor design.
“With its tall, arched ceilings, and beautiful stained glass windows, the ceremony
felt grand, yet intimate, at the same time,” reveals Charlotte.
paper and poste designed the couple’s stationery, which was printed in antique
gold and regalia letterpress ink. In a nod to Ryan’s Indian background, the invitations
featured a delicate design of falling crystals.
