Magdalene Church

This church in Amadeo, Coffee Capital of the
Philippines, has townsfolk proudly saying it’s
been built because of coffee. But there is much
more to it than its history with coffee.
The St. Mary Magdalene Church used to be a
Japanese garrison during the World War II. Today,
the souls of those guerrillas who perished are
prayed for and remembered as martyrs. Given
this rich historical background, it was declared
a National Historic Landmark by the National
Historical Institute in 1984.

Photographers are not allowed at the altar. tube gowns,
tops, dresses and showering of petals inside the church
are prohibited.

Leading to the antique church, is a long
cemented path with trees on the sides. It
has a Baroque facade similar to other old
churches.
Terms of Engagement
The basics: Birth, Baptismal and Confirmation Certificates,
Permit\Banns, Marriage License, Interview, Seminar,
Confession and CENOMAR. A simple form will also be filled
up during the interview.

Tuesday – Saturday: 8:00 AM / 9:00 AM / 11:00 AM.
