Bigelow Chapel

Constructed in the 1840s and made of Quincy granite, Bigelow Chapel serves as a stunning example of Gothic Revival architecture. In the words of Meg Winslow, Mount Auburn ' s Senior Curator of Historical Collections and Archives,“ the windows, like tapestries of shimmering light and color, unify the architectural space and bring a sense of nature into the building.”
Tall, arched ceilings add a feeling of grandeur to this intimate space. In addition, a glass pavilion offers sweeping vistas of Mount Auburn ' s landscape.
