The Grade II listed historic mansion, one of Staffordshire’ s finest stately homes, was previously owned by the Sneyd family. The manor of Keele was held by the family continuously from 1544 to 1948. Keele Hall was built between 1851 and 1861, with Victorian architect Anthony Salvin, who also worked on the renovations at Windsor Castle, Alnwick Castle and the Houses of Parliament, designing an imposing building in mock Jacobean style. It is built of local red sandstone with contrasting Hollington stone dressings.
Today, Keele Hall still stands in hundreds of acres of lush parkland and immaculate gardens. With elegant chandeliers, a dramatic wooden staircase, ornate fireplaces and beautiful oak-panelling, many of the rooms retain their original features, making the setting quite unique.
