Outdoor

CEREMONIES

More and more people are now choosing to be married or form a civil partnership outdoors . Until recently , civil marriages had to take place inside or under a permanent licensed structure . Due to a change in legislation we are now able to conduct ceremonies at licensed premises in their outdoor areas without the need for a licensed structure . The areas still have to be prior approved before any legal ceremony , so please speak to your venue regarding the outside areas available . If your venue does not hold an approved venue licence , please speak to us about a Bespoke package .
Please remember that , with the great British summer being what it is , it will not always be possible to hold a ceremony outdoors due to inclement weather , which may include rain , wind or even very hot and sunny conditions with no shade .
It will be the Registrars ’ decision on the day whether the ceremony can take place outdoors . They will need to consider the safety and wellbeing of the guests as well as the protection of the Schedule , which is the only official record of the ceremony .
Please do not let it spoil your day if the ceremony cannot take place outdoors for whatever reason . Make sure you have a back-up plan and select another room at the venue and remember , it should be big enough to accommodate all your guests .
