Ideal MakeUp
for the Bride to be..By Lindsay Lin
S
ince your wedding
day may be the
biggest day of your
life, the beautiful bride that you
are should walk on the aisle as
radiant and as glowing as you
can be. As a wedding makeup
artist, I take into consideration
several factors before applying
makeup. Products and its
application vary depending
on one’s skin type, time, mood, the desired look and what
actually suits you best. I have come up with a few of those
concerns out of the possible many, to bringing out that lovely
bride in you.
Though it is believed that oil slows down the aging process,
you would not want it on your big day. Toning helps to cleanse
& minimize pores and there are oil-control primers which I use
that help. Matte foundation along with pressed powders with
matte finish gives a full cover as well. For the dry skin, a bride
needs to rehydrate by drinking lots of water and moisturize
regularly to help get rid of that flakey skin. Oil-based and dewy
foundations are ideal to use.
When makeup tends to darken way beyond your actual skin
tone, then you have an acidic skin type. A foundation about
one to two shades lighter than your natural skin color is best
applied so that by the time the acidity takes effect the desired
tone is achieved. Highlighting the T-zones and S-zones of
the face is another way to make it even. Waterproof makeup
specifically eyeliners, eye pencils, mascaras and faux lash
adhesives are used for the bride that shed tears a lot, as it
prevents makeup from running off and smearing.
Makeup varies depending on the time, when the sun is up
it is ideal to have a fresh natural look, subtle yet defined,
light but never pale. On the opposite, the night bride deserves
an intense eye makeup and a heavier shade of lips, dramatic
enough to be captured in photos. She may also have her hair
styled up in the day and down flowing in the evening or vice
versa.
Neutral shades like mauve, taupe, light pink, beige
and shades of brown makes up a classic bride,
while the contemporary may be depending on
the theme a bride desires, or a look she wants to
achieve. This bride can go for bright eye shadows
intense as that of a Bollywood eye makeup, or thin
eyebrows, winged eye and full red lips for that retro
glam look.

Airbrush makeup has become so popular among brides
because of the promises it gives - long lasting, smooth
coverage that feels light and natural to name a few. But this
doesn’t mean that traditional makeup is far behind. In fact
with the use of reliable products and tools and well-formulated
makeup inventions, traditional makeup can also be trusted
when it comes to its staying power and high definition effects.
Indeed, the technique, the products, and the approach will
all depend on many factors but when your actual day comes
don’t forget to wear your best smile. Your lovely smile along
with your long and white brocaded gown shall never fail to
make a beautiful bride in you.
