their words, “quirky furniture and furnishings” for your
home is a living proof of that. Their

Checklist from
the Stylist
Engagement shoots are no piece of cake! Stylist
Alexandra Lapa shares some tips on how to make
your prenup a fun experience.
Sleep. “Photoshoots are always exhausting and
more so to people who aren’t used to them.” Get
plenty of sleep at least 2 days before the shoot to
help you relax yet energized for the day.
Practice. “It would also be good to review visual
pegs for poses. Some couples I know even
practiced--and it really did help on the day of
the shoot because they were more relaxed, they
basically knew what to expect.”
Stock Up. “Always prepare food and water for the
entire crew. Make sure you are also well-rested
and well-fed because you have to be in front of the
camera the whole day and it shows if you’re feeling
hungry, tired and grouchy.”
Come Prepared. “If props design isn’t a concern,
indoor shoots are ideal because it’s a controlled
set-up. However, outdoor shoots are always
beautiful, but remember you have to contend with
the weather, lack of outlets or electricity, traveling
with luggage, insects, people gawking, etc.
Always remember to secure permits, bring outlet
extensions and portable fans if you can and insect
repellant.”
Hire a Pro. Usually, as a stylist, I don’t just tell the
couple what to wear. I am constantly on guard
with the wardrobe and set up, making sure it looks
good on the couple... a stylist is creative, but she’s
also like a QA manager. Remember your job is
STYLE and that goes beyond just clothing. Make
sure clothes aren’t bunching up where they’re not
supposed to, stray fabric and threads are out-ofthe-picture and wrinkles are manageable.”

University of the Philippines Campus – Sink into the Garden, Not into Your Pockets
The famous campus that breeds the smartest of the country is not only known for it, its campus is filled with
beautiful sceneries that love bugs couldn’t stay away from. Of course, the ever-so-popular Sunken Garden is
among the favorites of couples and even photographers alike, but there are plenty of other options to choose
from like the Carillon Plaza and the Lagoon - both are equally oozing with history and beauty.
Moreover, couples who plan to pick UP as their prenup venue would have a lot to save. Luckily the campus
is open to all; you just need to secure a permit from the university head office.
