bridal creation made of pure piña fabric and with elaborate embroidery that took half a year to finish . The wedding gown includes a refined pañuelo that can be put on during the ceremony , and taken off in the reception .
On deciding for her wedding theme , Nikki turned to Pinterest . “ It ’ s so easy to go crazy finding pegs for your dream wedding ,” said Nikki . “ What ’ s good [ about Pinterest ] is that there so many ideas out there to match your personality and your budget ,” she added .
Nikki admitted that Pinterest is a great channel for generating new ideas but she made sure to put her personal touches to her wedding , a reflection of her and her partner ’ s personality . She wanted her dream wedding to be classic , timeless , elegant and traditional . “ Nothing too out of the box ,” Nikki said . She emphasized that she would want her wedding to be her children ’ s peg in the future .
The much-awaited time in Nikki and BJ ’ s lives had finally come . Last November 15 , 2015 , Nikki and BJ had their picturesque sunset wedding out of town . This solemn ceremony was a memorable moment they would cherish for the rest of their lives .
Their dream wedding , well attended by their respective families , relatives and friends , showed God ’ s real love to them . “ This wedding – - this marriage – was more than a coming together of two people for me . It was more than having the people important to us [ who ] stand witness [ es ] to our pledge of love and fidelity to each other . It was more than anything , a display of God ’ s sovereignty ,” Nikki wrote on her blog .
Nikki , during their exchange of marital vows , summarized their love story . “ It wasn ’ t a one-time , fireworks , eureka , slow motion , running to each other ’ s arms kind of moment . It was a gradual but consistent build-up of trust and friendship ,” Nikki told to BJ . “ We started growing and growing and before I knew it , had turned into love – the real kind , the God kind . And I knew in my spirit that I was right .”
The season of waiting helped Nikki in finding the right man . She was thankful that she did obey God ’ s beautiful plans for her . “ That He knew what He was doing all this time . And I couldn ’ t be more thankful that I waited for God ’ s best ,” Nikki recounted over her blog .
