Vera Wang.
The famous designer that everybody knows, Vera Wang. Yes, you may know that she designs wedding dresses, but did you know that she designs the most beautiful clothing other than wedding dresses? Along with Jewelry and furniture? Plus, she even wrote a book. Well if you didn’t, lean back and get comfy because I am going to tell you how she became to be.
Vera Ellen Wang was born and raised in New York City. She is of Chinese descent, both her parents were born in Shanghai, and came to America in the mid-1940’s. She has one brother Kenneth, that is younger than her. Vera graduated from The Chapin School in 1967, she earned a degree in art history from Sarah Lawrence College. Vera began figure skating at the age of eight, and even was featured on the cover of Sports Illustrated. She tried to make the US Olympics team, but she failed, she then entered the fashion industry.
She started in 1970, and Vera was a senior editor for Vogue magazine, but she left after being turned down for the editor-in-chief position. She started making the most beautiful wedding gowns, for the most famous people. She even made some skating outfits for her friends.
Since then she has created her own line called “White by Vera Wang”. She is now still making gowns.
