Wedding Tips
P
lanning is one of the most important aspects of any wedding day. There’s so much involved in planning a wedding, so many questions that could get you anxious about how your day is going to turn out. There is no need to fret. Just relax - here are all the basics you’ll need to help you pull together a memorable wedding.
e is for enjoy
Planning a wedding is exciting and fun but it can sometimes be stressful. Don’t let little hang-ups spoil your enjoyment of the process. Things invariably don’t always go exactly to plan, but don’t arrive at your day so stressed out or exhausted that you can’t enjoy yourself – you’ve worked hard to pull it together, make sure you take the time to savour it.
A is for Aspire
When it comes to your wedding, think outside the box and aspire to have something a little bit different and unique to you. You don’t have to follow the traditional wedding trends. If you choose to walk up the aisle with your family, have your wedding reception at night, whisk off your friends and family to a destination wedding – don’t let anything stop you. It’s your special day, so have the day that you want.
f is for fun
Remember, your wedding day is meant to be fun. Which it will be once you remember to invite all your guests, book the hotel, hire the band, pay the photographer, choose a menu, pick a dress and so on. But above all, make sure you have fun.
g is for guests
It’s very important to look after your guests properly on your wedding day – they will remember it not for the minute details, but for their enjoyment of the proceedings. Ensure that you provide sufficient refreshments throughout the day and try to avoid having long gaps where guests may become bored. Also make each guest feels special by making a point of speaking to them individually.
get a head start on the time-consuming task of addressing the envelopes.
j is for jewellery
It’s your wedding day, but don’t go overboard with jewellery that takes the focus away from the dress. Brides should either wear their everyday items or simple matching pieces which compliment their dress. Remember the ring is the most important item, so other pieces of jewellery should not dominate.
B

Developing a realistic budget is admittedly not the most romantic part of planning your wedding, but you certainly can’t do much of anything before you figure one out. To get a sense of how much money you have to work with, determine how much you and your fiancé have available and sit down with both sets of parents to find out what, if anything, they are able to contribute.
H is for Honeymoon
After a very busy wedding planning process and a packed wedding day, getting away from it all with your new spouse will be a relief. Book early and look out for special honeymoon offers at travel agents and enjoy each other’s company.
K is for Kids
Lots of couples have the dilemma of what to do to keep the children at the wedding occupied and out of the adults’ way. If you are inviting children to your wedding, make sure that there are sufficient activities to keep them entertained, and think carefully about timings when it comes to serving food.

A Stress Free Wedding A-Z
Planning is one of the most imPortant asPects of any wedding day.

As a bride, you should wear make-up you feel comfortable in and shades that bring out the best in your outfit. Don’t be pushed into using too much by beauty consultants wanting to get some commission from selling you lots of make-up.
i is for invitAtions
Ideally, you should start your search for the perfect invitations six to eight months before your wedding and place your order at least four months before your date. If you don’t make those deadlines, ask the printer to send the envelopes ahead of the invitations themselves. This way, you can
l is for love
Amidst all the chaos, don’t forget to flash your partner a warm smile and tell them how much you love them. Presumably this was the motivation behind getting married in the first place, so try to bear it in mind, as your stress levels soar in the run-up to the big day.
d is for dress
Every bride fusses over her wedding dress - what it would look like, how it would fit, if her groom would like it. The dress is also what all the guests have been waiting to see, but don’t be tempted to go over the top, especially to impress or please relatives. Wear something unique but comfortable and make sure you choose it yourself.
