‘ We had another venue booked – but our hearts were set on Margate’
We chose our venue after spending a long weekend in Margate. One evening over drinks, after visiting Turner, I asked Edd where he would choose to get married if he could have his wedding anywhere. His answer was immediate: Margate, with the sunset pouring through the windows of the Turner.
We saw more venues than we can count and had even booked a very different kind of venue, but ultimately our hearts were set on Margate.
‘ My pride and joy was my dress’
My wedding dress came after a good couple of months of searching. I travelled to the Peak District, Birmingham and London for try-ons, but in the end I found the one at a boutique in Hull – a dress I’ d had my eye on for some time after first seeing it in London. It was the Harriet by Alexandra Grecco. It fit like a glove, and the back completely sold it for me. My pride and joy was my dress.
I paired my dress with the Alexandra Grecco scarf, this for me was a non-negotiable purchase to bring my vision together. My favourite accessory was my choora, which are bridal bangles worn by an Indian bride on her wedding day usually for the first year of marriage.

My want for tying in the traditional Indian wedding colour of red was what really started the vision board off, paired with dusty neutrals and earthy greens. Texture was extremely important, we wanted bold floral structure – ensuring that whilst it looked
